Originally the village school, RYG has been a residential Outdoor Education centre for the Past 20 years. The centre was run by Berkshire L.E.A up until 2004. Now run privately we still cater for a large number of Berkshire schools and youth groups.

The main building offers accommodation for 40 children in 2 large dorms, plus staff bedrooms. For larger groups please contact the centre as we may be able to organise additional accommodation nearby.

The main centre also houses the dining room, large common room with disco and video projector, classroom and large drying room.

Most residential groups arrive on Sunday afternoon and leave the following Saturday. This enables enough time to settle into the centre before dinner and go on a night walk on Sunday. Groups then do five days of activities, often with an easier day on Friday to allow time to clear up and pack.

Residential courses are fully catered with all food provided. Students make their own sandwiches at breakfast as well as do a short duty each morning. We feel this is an important part of the residential experience and gives students ownership of the centre.
